Note from the office: Terry Fox Run Update

Hello Ken Taylor Families,

This week in our classrooms, students will be learning about a great Canadian Hero, Terry Fox. On Friday, we are planning to have our Terry Fox run to honour his memory and raise funds to fight Cancer.  Our goal is to raise $600.  Throughout the week, our grade 4 leadership students will be collecting toonies for Terry.  If you would like to help us meet this goal, please send a toonie with your child this week.  The weather forecast for Friday currently is calling for unsettled conditions.  We have three different scenarios based on the weather that day.

1. If the weather is good we will run around the soccer fields and baseball diamond. The course will be marked with pylons.  The students will run for approximately 30 minutes.  The run will start at 11:00.  Students will go directly from their classrooms out to the field.  School staff will be out to guide them around the course.  Parents are welcome to join us outside to run and cheer on our students.

2. If it is raining lightly,(drizzling) outside, students will run on the sidewalk and pathway around the school for about 20 minutes. We will have adults across the driveway for safety.  The run will start at 11:00.  Students will go directly from their classrooms out to the sidewalk and onto the pathway.  School staff will be out to guide them around the course.  Parents are welcome to join us outside to run and cheer on our students.

3. If it is raining or snowing we will have classes come to the gym to run throughout the morning.

School administration will make the decision Friday morning, based on the weather conditions if we are going outside or staying indoors.    Regardless of the weather, please ensure that your child is dressed to go outside that day, with Calgary weather, you just never know.
Thank you for flexibility,
Todd Faunt
