Language Arts: Our writing is becoming very interesting! We are sharing our writing we a peer and working on the peer editing strategy, "Does it make sense?":

Our reading is also becoming more sophisticated. Good readers make inferences (an informed guess) about stories. This is the idea that you combine the text clues and what you already know, to make a prediction or inference about the text:

Math: We had a short unit on 2-d shapes this week! Ask me about the math vocabulary: vertex (vertices), open lines, closed lines, and sides. Ask me the features of squares, rectangles, triangles and circles, using these lines to describe these shapes.

Social Studies: This week we flew to Saskatoon. Everyone enjoyed the flight! We have noticed that Saskatoon has a lot of bridges over the South Saskatchewan River, so we are trying to answer some questions about the "City of Bridges."

Science: We continue to learn more about liquids. This week we worked on more experiments with water and we have begun to learn about the water cycle.
